Getting The Hang Of Running That Business

When you first start working, especially if you are in the world of commerce, it is so much easier to get paid when someone else is up the front, at the helm, running the show.  I used to work for a small family firm, as the ‘floating’ secretary or typist.  This firm had several little satellite offices in several small towns based along the River Thames.  It was lovely for me to see all these nice colleagues every other week as I made my way around all six, doing their correspondence and catching up with their filing etc.

These days all this would be done electronically and I would no doubt be sat in a swish office at the parent headquarters – which was handily placed in the tiny village where I lived.   Keeping abreast of the business needs is critical for small business owners.  Knowing how to improve their own offerings is even more necessary now.
